About the Artist:
My twin sister and I had an unusual upbringing. My parents were living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when we were born, and came back to Ohio, USA, when we were 4 years old. Then at 13 we moved to Hamburg, Germany. We attended many schools during these years and learn the useful skill of adapting to new environments, societies, and friendships.
I was the kid who could draw in school, and that is what I did, constantly. My uncle, Robert Loomis, was a life-long artist and painter and I was immensely inspired by him and by his art. Watching him made it clear to me that this was something a person can actually do in life. I studied art in college, but majored in language. I married young and had six (I) children, which kept me too busy to be serious about art. In 1989 my husband, Bob, gave me a gift of a palette, brushes and watercolors, and I was off and running! I haven’t looked back since. Now I paint and teach watercolor. My works are in collections all over the country, and I’ve participated in several galleries and Art Organizations in several states., and have won many awards. But now… I have a studio where I can work and mix with other artists in the ArtWorks in Wilmington, NC. I am loving my life! |
